Tomoyasu Hotei began his career with the legendary rock band BOØWY, which had a major impact on the rock scene in Japan and led to his solo debut in 1988. In 2012, Hotei relocated to the UK and, in 2021, he received high acclaim from around the world for his performance at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

When I first debuted, one of my biggest dreams was to someday write and perform songs for anime. I didn’t actually think it would come true, but I always hoped.
MOVIE COMMENTThis song is a vibrant celebration of feelings I’ve learned to treasure while being an artist- be yourself, unapologetically and without shame. Even if people villainize you, live loud and proud and be true to yourself. These are words I needed to hear myself, and so I wrote them for myself and for all of us.
